Left Colleyville at about 12pm, and made our way to Ennis to see the bluebonnet trail on the 85. Ate lunch at Subway in Seven Points, TX. Then got on the 175 to Jacksonville, TX and Rusk, TX. Turned east on the 343 and stopped at Nacogdoches, TX.
Then rode on the El Camino Real de los Tejas. Designated as a National Historic Trail in 2004, El Camino Real de los Tejas (Highway 6 in Louisiana and Highway 21 in Texas) has existed for more than 300 years.
Crossed the river Sabine and entered Louisiana and made our way to Natchitoches, LA where we arrived at 7:20pm.
There was still enough light so went for a ride by the creek before parking bike at about 8pm for dinner at Mama's Oyster House on Jefferson Street.
We both decided for fish. Paula had the Snapper
and I had the Tuna.
The small bowl on both of our plates had a very nice shrimp and crab sauce. It had mushrooms as well and was delicious.
For dessert we had bread pudding.
The food was very good and we finished our evening sitting on the sidewalk and listening to live music.
What a great evening !
